Darkness crept under my door,
Into my room, across my floor
Fear began to take control
As bells of three the clock did toll
Lightning flashed into the night and shadows danced with glowing light
Thunder blared and shook the walls as I heard footsteps in the halls
Then came a rap upon my glass
I waited for the sound to pass
The rapping grew much louder now and sweat dripped down across my brow
I heard a voice and cringed with dread as thoughts of death raced through my head
I peered out beneath my sheet and saw a girl, who smiled so sweet
She grinned and waved and beckoned me
No time to waste,
I jumped with glee
I grabbed the door, and flung it wide and she was quickly by my side
She smiled again and with firm embrace we found our spot, our special place
To dance away this night so new a serenade in morning dew then with a kiss, she left my side
I searched for her, both high and wide
But she was nowhere to be found
I called to her, but heard no sound
Morning came,
I rushed outside
And suddenly my eyes grew wide
I shed a tear and read her grave
